Prior to a research project commencing ethical approval needs to be obtained. This includes appropriateness of a site to participate in research. You may be required to complete a Site Specific Information (SSI) document. You would only need to complete the sections relevant to your site, most of the other information fields will have been pre-populated.
You should ensure you have a copy of the approval form from the ethics committee, also known as the REC (Research Ethics Committee), present within the study documentation. As well as having initial ethics committee approval it is important that you receive copies of any subsequent approvals by the ethics committee to study conduct or documentation..
